Supervisory verification FAQ

How many financial regulators are tracked in ETFYield Lab's coverage?

ETFYield Lab tracks 59 supervisory authorities relevant to stock brokers, investment platforms and wealth managers, of which 14 currently have licensed institutions on file in our dataset (566 total licence records) and 59 include a direct public register verification URL.

How should I verify a broker or institution on a regulator’s public register?

Use the "Register ↗" link next to the supervising authority to open its official public register. Search by the exact licence/reference number and confirm that the legal entity name, registered address, approved website domain, and permitted retail or institutional activities match the firm you are dealing with.

What is the difference between an active licence and an offshore or revoked registration?

An active regulated or registered status indicates the entity was listed as authorised at the time of snapshot, whereas offshore registrations carry lighter capital and investor-compensation requirements, and revoked/exceeded statuses indicate the licence is no longer in good standing.
